Highly recommended! Hank is an honest guy like other people said. I just came back from his shop to have my brake pad changed less than an hour ago. After asking at least 10 different shops, Hank gave me the cheapest price for my car. He charged me $50 for the labor, while other place told me $120 for the same labor. I also asked him a lot of other questions regarding my Nissan Sentra and my other car. He nicely answered all of my question and gave me advice on some parts that I don't have to change (my current two favorite shops told me to change). I will definitely go to him from now on.

I called around to see who will pull an engine code as my daughters car had a shutter and light on. When I called, Hank asked me to tow it in, he will pull codes at no charge. We brought our dad's old camry in once again a couple weeks ago to get knock sensors replaced as we needed it done before getting a smog check. Hank helped us last time our car overheated (our first time then) and we found him not only competent but also very communicative, honest, and very fair with his fees...so much so we came back to do the more costly and time intensive work. Hank always answers when we call and is great (and patient) at explaining things he finds and work needed, esp when we have lots of questions. As he replaced our knock sensor and burnt wiring case, he found a leak in our radiator without us mentioning - which was a true find as we'd noticed leak under our car. He also noticed our upper brake light was out and replaced that. His work is thorough and prompt. He doesn't drag out the repair and keep our car unnecessarily long. We also appreciate that he explains options to us for OEM or genuine parts and their pros/cons and $$. Given that ours is an old car, he was very sensitive and advised what was worthwhile and what might not be...with ultimate decision left naturally left to us. Loved that he helped us be informed customers. We ask lots of questions and do our own research; in light of that we definitely find Hank reliable and trustworthy. Would not hesitate to return to Hank for future work.

At the end of the workday on Friday 7/13/18, my dad's car overheated and broke down. I was a couple hours away so I needed to find a trustworthy mechanic to whom I could get my dad's car towed. Though the Auto Club recommended an Auto Club approved facility equally close by, we chose to have our car towed to Hank for various reasons. Hank was nearby (within towing radius). He had many good reviews so that reassured us initially. The reassurance was confirmed with actual experience: each time I called (which was several), Hank answered promptly and listened patiently to all my concerns/questions. Plus, he was willing to receive our car towed to him even if the tow may arrive a little past his closing time. He kept the car overnight and assessed it first thing the next morning. He was very good about calling with his findings and explaining options to us. Never did we feel pressured to make any fixes - after all, we asked a LOT of questions throughout and, once again, Hank was very patient to explain and answer each time. We mostly appreciated his pointing out what repairs were essential and why (so the car could go & go safely) ... and what repairs were labor intensive (thus costly) and not essential at the time (car could still perform fine and safely). He told us the symptoms to watch out for so we could be proactive. He test drove it and we did as well, all to our satisfaction. Our repair costs could've been triple what it was but Hank's prices were fair (we keep records and checked around)... AND he recommended we wait on work we DIDN'T NEED to do (though he could've easily told us we needed it done and made more money from us!) We have no hesitation bringing our car back to Hank for future needs and are glad we found a local mechanic we can trust.

I came in just for an oil change, and they were done in about 30 minutes (There were maybe only 2 other customers at the same time). Price was totally fair considering I have a sport SUV. Even nicer of them, they did a general check and topped off my power steering fluid without charging me for it.

Overall, way better experience than the dealer and other service stations I've been to before.

I have been looking for a shop for my 2005 Honda odyssey engine mount problem thru several familiar auto shops who I trust for a long time in the past. Until I talk to this shop owner Hank Jann, I realized I have been fooled by those old shops for the reason that it was not a easy money making job so they just keeping telling me that my car has no problem. I fund out the person who work there were all very honest and did a great jobs. The price is very reasonable and the result was amazing. Now my 2005 Odyssey at the mileage of 130,000 is driving just like new again so powerful! I was almost trying to sell it cheap because seems nobody can help me the solve the problem.
Again I took my 2004 Lexus last week for changing the timing belts. Hank fund I have a water pump leak and suggest me to change it while when this convenience time. The result again was

Wow, I really got lucky finding this place! Hank is the best. I live way over in Hollywood, but I was looking at buying a 36-year-old Datsun 280ZX that happened to be in El Monte. So based on the Yelp reviews I took it here to have a mechanic check it out. Hank drove it, put it up and gave me a full run-down of what was wrong with it, including pointing out under the frame where it had been reinforced after two minor accidents. (The owner was standing right there and had just told me it had never been in a fender-bender). For all this, Hank only charged $30. When I decided to buy the car, somewhat against his advice, I took it straight to him for a new wheel bearing. His price was very reasonable and he even knocked off the $30 for evaluating the car in the first place!

The car needed more major work. It needed basically a whole new front suspension, and a new gasket on the exhaust manifold, which is a very delicate job on these cars. If it's not handled properly or there's too much damage to the studs you can end up needing a whole new cylinder head which is super expensive. To his credit, Hank said up front he didn't want to get involved in a big project on an old car because one problem can lead to another. But you know, an honest mechanic is hard to find, so I prevailed on him to take my case.

In the end, he did a fantastic job. The Datsun runs and feels like a whole new car. Hank had initially quoted me a very fair price and told me it would take about two weeks, but warned it could be significantly more time and money if something was wrong with the head. But nothing went wrong. The job ended up going faster than expected, and he actually charged me less than the initial quote! I've never had that happen at a mechanic's shop, but that's the same way I treat my clients, so I feel like it was good karma. I got lucky that the head was okay to start with, but even luckier to have found this place, since any other mechanic could have really messed it up. I'm not sure if Hank will be happy to hear this, but I plan on taking the Z back for years to come!

I love this place! I've gone a few times for an oil change and today I came to get my brakes changed. The prices are always very reasonable (front brakes for $94 total) and the staff that work here are sincere and honest. They always go above and beyond, caring for your safety rather than trying to make money off of you. I've gone to a few repair shops in the past and always felt like I was taken advantage of price-wise due to me being a female, however they do not do that here. After seeing that one of my tires were balding, Christopher even helped me rearrange it to put it in the back instead of front and told me to get a new one as soon as I can because it's dangerous to drive with it. They even told me I can wait a little on my rear brakes as it still has some padding left for about 8,000 more miles rather than getting all four done today.

I was skeptical about this shop when the man quoted me double the price to possibly replace an A/C air compressor $500. The conversion was done quickly and didn't need a new compressor (thankfully). The man only quoted me for repairs but when I returned for an estimate and diagnostic results, he had already completed the job. Only $95. I was pleased and I can recommend that you try this shop.

Christopher, one of Hank's mechanics, offered my parents & I a ride back home. He didn't have to but he did! My parents & I were very thankful. Thus we bring our vehicles here for service. I really wouldn't take my vehicles to any other mechanic but here! I give this business 5 stars!!! I will continue to have my vehicles to be serviced here. Highly recommend!

I found this place through Yelp because my usual auto shop was too busy. This is my second time coming here. The first time I did an oil change for my prius. I didn't need an appointment and he said it would take about 25 minutes but I chose to leave and come back. It cost me $47 including tax for a synthetic oil change, which is about right. I normally pay about $50 at my other autoshop. I paid with credit card.

Today I came to replace a headlight and it cost $18 with a cash discount.

They offer a cash discount so if you can, pay in cash! They also offer 10% off labor if you review them on Yelp or check in on Facebook.

The owner and workers speak both English and Chinese.

I love this mechanic shop! I have a 1997 Lexus ES300 and all work has been done here for the past 3 yr. I have an old car and had a few major issues but ever since Hank took care of it 2 yrs ago, My car has been running fine. The past 2 yrs it's just oil changes, a tune up and replaced tires there. They do such good work with very reasonable price and also very honest, therefore I am a loyal customer! Hank is a awesome guy! Sometimes I saw they work on El Monte PD vehicle as well so their work must be good.

Came here for an oil change on my lexus iS250 and left within 45 min. the guys here are friendly and i was acknowledge right away. 30 buck w filter and I'm out. will come back for a smog check and other services

I don't live nearby, but I'm more than happy to drive out of my way to get my car serviced here. They are very good, very reasonably priced and very HONEST. As hard as it is to find a mechanic you can trust, I'm very happy to be a loyal customer and would highly recommend them.

I've come here so often that it feels like my 3rd home. My parents have been coming here since I was 5, and now I only come here for my car. (I once towed my car from UC Riverside all the way to El Monte just so Hank could take care of it). Hank and his employees are efficient and good at what they do. I don't plan on finding a new mechanic anytime soon!

Always attentive to what needs to get done, and they do a very thorough job. We've taken all of our cars here for service, which has spanned the better part of nearly 20 years. Oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, smog checks, windshield replacement, diagnoses, and so much more.

Hank, the owner, has always done right by our family. Minivans, daily drivers, luxury sports cars....he's worked on them all. And he does it right. Don't let the quick service fool you. He is thorough! What I love about his work is that he knows how to communicate with the customer. It's not about upsells or gimmicks. He tells it like it is, and never wastes anyone's time.

I've referred numerous friends to this location and will continue to do so. It's lowered car friendly, especially for the alignment and any work that requires the lifts.

I have been at this auto repair shop for my car service work recently for oil change and brake service. I was referred by a coworker who have been takin his Honda Pilot here for over 10 years. Everyone is extremely nice and helpful especially owner Hank who is very honest which you do not find this trait nowadays in a auto repair shop. His price is really good for oil change or you can bring your oil and filter he just charge you labor. All and All I would recommend north elmonte automotive to everyone it's worth the try and they have many stalls, easy parking, wifi, and open Saturday's.

PRICE: Cheap oil change. Got a basic one for my 2013 Prius for $25. Takes credit cards.

SPEED: Very fast. Made no appointment and was in and out in less than 30 minutes on a weekday.

SERVICE: I think Hank is the owner of this auto shop and he's a very nice Chinese guy. I messaged him for an estimate and he replied right away! Everyone is super nice and friendly.

WAITING ROOM: Not really much of a waiting room, just a chair or two near the cash register.

OVERALL: Great for cheap oil changes. Takes credit cards. Fast Service. Speaks Chinese.

I recently started bringing in my car after they fixed an oil leak that couldn't be figured out from 3 different other auto repair places. I am very sorry I didn't come to them earlier because I probably paid for unnecessary parts and repair for the leak last year. I am glad I found a reliable and decent priced auto repair shop!!

I just had my ignition fixed on my Honda Accord and again, this place has done a great job and provides great services in a time manner. I've been taking my car there for over 10 years for maintenance such as smog checks, oil changes, tire rotations, brake pad replacements, and a battery replacement. I even had my radiator replaced after cracking it when I sped through a dip on the street. They have competitive prices and the staff is friendly, knowledgable and skilled. I haven't had any problems with my car after having it serviced there. They normally don't do this, but they were nice enough to help me install a bike rack when I didn't know how. Kudos!!! :)

Being a female, I am afraid of being ripped off. I often questioned other mechanics' motives when they suggested additional work and services at other auto shops. But that doesn't happen here. I deal with Hank all the time and he's super nice and honest. Sometimes I will bring my car in for a check up on a noise I hear and he will check it and say there is nothing wrong and requires no servicing while other places might have persuaded me to perform unnecessary work. This is my go to place for any auto service and I highly recommend this place.

I've been bringing my car and my parent's cars to them for more than 9 years now. I started out just doing a smog check, but began bringing my car for oil changes as they seem to have reasonable prices. After that, I felt they were honest and the people were friendly. They did not make unnecessary repairs to the cars unless it was needed. Since then, I've had my brakes, tires, bearings, and battery replaced and have not had any issues with their work.
